However in this practice of medicine. field there was a long way to go. that "Medicine said Father McCrann that runs counter to ethical and moral principles cannot be good medicine, for both sciences have God as their Author." Expressing the thanks of the Catholic Community to the Sisters who staff our hospitals, St. Anne's, St. John of God in
Subiaco, Belmont and Northam, St. Joseph's in Bicton, the preacher compared them to other hospitals in this State which even go to the extent of having a birth control clinic in the hospital itself. We should thank God, he said, for the availability of our hospitals as training places for Catholic nurses in this imporant work of midwifery.

In the occasional sermon, preached by the Rev. P. McCrann of St. Mary's Cathedral the text was taken, "Then, were little children presented to Him, that He should impose hands on them and pray."
After pointing out that Our Blesed Lord welcomed the children for their innocence, and imparted a warning that we should all become as little children in our approach to God, Father McCrann vigorously attacked the present propaganda of the modern world towards denial, of the natural law, in matters relating to conception, birth and upbringing of children.
"If there are that many people starving (60' ) today," said Father McCrann, "it is not the fault of the "population explosion" as it is called, but it is due rather to the greed and injustice of man."
Faith in the alt-provident'God and application to the worlds problems with intelligence was what was required, he said.
