Catholics Should Resist This Bill

During the week the members of the Legislative Assembly agreed to the passage of a private bill enabling a man to marry his divorced wife's sister and a woman to be married to her divorced husband's brother. Only one dissient voice-that of Dame Florence Cardell-Oliver-was heard during the debate on legislation which is a gross affront to the Christian .. and national conscience. The sordid business was introduced by Mr. Watts, leader of the Country Party, on the most curious pretext.
