Dardanup Initiates Devotion Feted by Kalgoorlie Catholic Tennis Club
Of The 'Home Pilgrim Virgin' More than 60 parishioners gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hynes, at Waterloo, when the "home pilgrim Virgin" devotion was inaugurated in this Archdiocese in the parish of Dardanup by the Rev. C. Cunningham on April 22. It was an inspiring scene as the small statue was borne through a guard of honour formed by the Children of Mary and parishioners, and was enthroned on a specially -prepared altar by Mr. Cecil Hynes. The enthronement was followed by the hymn to Our Lady of Fatima. The head of the house then recited the Rosary and the Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. More hymns followed, and Father Cunningham then explained the devotion which was inaugurated with the approval of His Grace the Archbishop. The role the statue plays in the devotion is that it visits, by written invitation, the homes in the parish.
