8,500 Rally at Aquinas To Hail Christ as King A total of 64 buses and 640 private cars brought many of the estimated 8,500 Catholics
and non-Catholics to pay homage to Christ the King on the occasion of the annual Eucharistic procession and Holy Name rally, held at Aquinas college, Oct. 29. It was thought that this year's attendance was the largest since the war. Most parishes ran their own buses the Claremont Y.C.W. boys hired a launch and made. a picnic outing of the occasion. Even though the number of marchers exceeded that of other years, there seemed to be more spectators lining the oval than usual. The special enclosure next to the altar, which was reserved for the aged and infirm, was highly appreciated by those who otherwise would have had great difficulty in attending the function. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. E. Kennedy carried the monstrance, assisted by the Rev. T. Ahern, deacon, and the Rev. J. McNamara, sub-deason. The occasional sermon was preached by the Rev. W. Dunphy, C.SS.R.; the Rosary was recited over the public address system by the Rev. C. Stinson and the Rev. E. Sullivan.
