Fishing Boats Will be Blessed Sunday Sept. 10 The ceremony of the blessing of fishing boats will be carried out by the Rev. Pietro Abromo, O.M.I., on Sunday, Sept. 10. This will be the first time this devotion has been carried out in Western Australia. The blessing of the boats, a practice which is carried out extensively in Italy, France, and Americo, will highlight the Marian procession in honour of Our Lady of Martyrs, which will commence from St. Patrick's church, Fremantle, at 2 p.m.

This Might Be Their Last Communion
Solemn Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the Rev. Brother Michael Ildephonsus Gibbons was celebrated in Sacred Heart church, Highgate, Sept. 4, by the Rev. John J. Wallace, assisted by the Rev. M. McKeon, 'deacon, and the Rev. J. Fitzgerald, sub -deacon. present pupils from the Christian Brothers' high school, Highgate. The Office of the Dead was recited by 50 of his religious brothers in the chapel of the Christian Brothers' college, St. 'George's Terrace on Sunday, Sept. 3.
The late Br. Gibbons was born at Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland, and came to Australia as a young man. He served as a Christian Brother at Waverley, Goulburn, Victoria Parade, North Melbourne, and Maryborough. The last 11 years of his life he spent at the Highgate high school where he had considerable success with the Junior University classes. Father McKeon, a relative of Brother M. I.
