The choice of belle of the ball was a hard task for the judges, who finally nominated Miss Barbara Rocchi, who wore a dainty offshoulder fitting bodice of pale pink satin, with full
tulle skirt. She was presented with a gift from the ball committee.

For the first twenty-seven years of her religious life she laboured in Parry Street School, Fremantle, and as an infant school teacher won high praise from all Government inspectors with whom she came in contact. She endeared herself to her charges, and even to -day is affectionately remembered by the grandparents of the present generation, who held her in great esteem.
