In the Canton of Zurich, for instance, there were only four Cdtholic parishes in 1864, while to -day there are 57. The city of Zurich now counts nearly 100,008 Catholics, the largest number of any Swiss city. Some 40 per cent of the population of Geneva is Catholic. In the past 84 years 200 new Catholic par ishes were established throughout Switzerland.
