His

Grace

Returns From

Europe To welcome His Grace the Archbishop on his return from Europe, a Liturgical Reception was tendered to him on Saturakay last in St. Mary's Cathedral. His Grace was met at the Door of the Cathedral by the Administrator (the Very Rev. Dr. Kenaedy), the clergy and the students of St. Charles' Seminary. They then preceded him up the aisle of the Cathedral to the sanctuary, where His Grace knelt in prayer before the High Altar prior to taking his seat en the throne. He was attended by the Rt. Rev. Monsignor Moloney and the Vev. Rev. E. Moss.

After a brief ceremony, the Administrator delivered an address of welcome to His Grace, in which he said: "We have assmbled here this morning in St. Mary's Cathedral for a solemn liturgical reception to His Grace the Archbishop, and we have come to express to him our loyalty and devotion on his return from Europe. "While abroad, His Grace was in Ireland. England and at Rome. At Rome he made his ad limina visit to the Holy See, a visit which is made at definite times by the Bishops of the world. He was received in audience by His Holiness Pope Pius XIL "It is my privilege, on behalf of the priests, religious and laity to extend a warm and hearty welcome back to Western Australia. "We hope, Your Grace, that your respite from the exacting years of work and worry have benefitted you. It is our sincere w'sh and prayer that Your Grace will be spared for many years to continue the great work you have been doing for God, the Church and Australia in the Archdiocese of Perth."
