His Excellency the Apostolic Delegate announced that Archbishop Man nix, Bishop McCarthy, Bishop Ryan, of Sale, Bishop Raible, and Abbot Catalan had written expressing their sincere good wishes and regretting that they could not be there that day. Then His Excellency said a few simHe welcomed one and all, ple words. and said that he should like them to remember always that the Delegation was the home of every Bishop, every priest and religious, since it was the home of the representative of the Pope, During who is Father of all of them. the eight years of his mission in Australia he believed he bad given proof of this to all those who have ever come there for one reason or another. In giving that dinner it was his wish that all the Catholics of Australia and New Zealand should be represented by the Bishops, all the priests by the 'worthy members of the clergy present, and by the religious superjoi's of the different Orders and Congregations.
