We,asChristianpeople,believethat Godmusthavesomedefinitepurpose inallowingthiswartocontinue.I havebeentaughttobelievethatGod createdthisworldforustolivein,and thatHedemandsthatwelove,honourandserveHim,andobeyHiscommandments.Ibelieve,too,thatHeis ajustGod,andwillconsiderouractions,goodorbad,astheydeserve. And,eventhoughpeoplemaysaythat timesaremodern,andwemustlive accordingly,wemuststillkeepthelaw ofGod,asHecommandeduswhenHe wasonearth.
Ibelievealso,thattheterribleevils ofthiswararecausedbythesinsof thepeoplesofthisworld.Isee,inretrospect,amotherorfather,whose onlysonhasgonetofight,callingto thebrotherheshouldhavehadto helphim,ortothesisterheshould havehadtonursehim.ButhisparentshavedisobeyedthelawsofGod, thoughtonlyofself,andusedmeans ofpreventionwhichenabledthemto gratifytheirdesires,andatthesame timetobefreeoftheirrightfulresponsibilitiesThesamething,unfortunately,appliestocountlessmarried couplesofto-day,whofloutthecommandsofGodwithregardtothebearingofchildren,whobreaktheirmarriagevowsagainandagain.Instead ofleadingagoodlifewithinthelaws ofGod,wehavemadeourowneasy laws.
