:Monsignor Verling carried the Monstrance, and afterwards officiated at Benediction, attended by Revs. J. E. ('arroll and D. J. Moloney as !)eacon and Sub -Deacon. The Altar, draped in crimson and white, was one glittering mass of lilies, carnations and a profusion of other flowers, pot plants and ferns, which made it appear particularly when lighted up with a multitude of candles, a veritable triumph of artistic skill and a charm of colour decoration-the result of many patient hours of labour and by the good Sisters of Mercy their orphan charges. In addition to the Catholic community, there is al-
