BY ANTHONY BARICH The re-booted MySchool 2.0 website reveals the need for an ongoing commitment from government and education authorities to fund students with disabilities, Catholic Education WA d i re c tor R on Dullard (pictured) said. The site, launched on 4 March, reveals the high cost of educating students with disabilities, as education centres require significant recurrent income per student, Mr Dullard said. Extra funding is also needed to help address the education outcomes for students, especially in the eight schools in remote Indigenous communities where the Catholic school is the only school, he said. The Record Bookshop has grown from humble beginnings in a spare room at the Catholic paper’s old offices, says Editor Peter Rosengren. It tries to distinguish itself with a special focus on meeting the needs of contemporary Catholics, especially families and parenting, Scripture and papal writings of the modern era.

ATHOLIC families in the 21st century find themselves facing increasingly complex challenges to being a Christian in modern societies, so they need resources to help them navigate their way. That, in a nutshell, is the reason The Record Bookshop was established. Although its beginnings were humble, today The Record Bookshop, a small department of The Record Catholic newspaper, is a buzzing hive of activity at its new offices at 21 Victoria Square opposite St Mary’s Cathedral.
