A new church will be dedicated in a special service at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Girrawheen today (Sunday). The Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Foley, will celebrate the Mass and dedicate the Our Lady of Mercy church, at 2 pm at the

Rules laid down for Tridentine Latin Mass

Occasions when the Tridentine Latin Mass can be used in the Perth archdiocese have been announced by Archbishop Foley. The announcement is in line with approval by Pope John Paul II granting diocesan bishops an indult to allow celebration of Mass according to the rite given in the 1962 edition of Missale Romanum. The calls followed a petition from Albany where ARCIC discussion groups there requested greater use of Intercommunion . . . priests of Anglican or Catholic churches to give communion to parishioners of the other church.
