LONDON: The distinguished Catholic weekly The Tablet has called David Yallop's book In God's Name a "scandalous book" and says while Yallop's evidence for the death of Pope John Paull is circumstantial, "he does not hesitate to arrive at the uncircumstantial conclusion the pope was murdered." "The publisher says Yallop is in hiding for his life; it should be fear of his reputation," says the weekly. Similarly, a Vatican official biographer of John Paul I, Monsignor Giulio Nicolini has called Yallop's accusations "absurd and without basis."
