CRISIS! URGENT ACTION NEEDED An urgent plea for each of the parishes of the Perth archdiocese to put forward candidates for priests and religious was made by the Archbishop of Perth, Archbishop Foley in his Vocations Sunday homily. "In the archdiocese of Perth we have more than 100 parishes. I want priests and religious from each of these parishes," Archbishop Foley said in a dramatic message relayed to parishes last Sunday. "I want generous men and women to hear this call and to respond to it. I invite parents to support this call, and friends, teachers and parish leaders to reecho the call," he said in a message taped for Vocations Sunday. "I want you, men and women who

Archbishop Foley "It is a great work, it demands vision. and it asks for commitment. "It is a special ministry of leadership and service within the Church. This is the life to which I am calling you," he said. "I recognise there are many vocations in the Church and we need them all. The Lord can call us to marriage, or to single life, just as to the priesthood or the religious life. I wish to issue a call for more men and women, disciples of the Lord, to give their lives to God and to His people in religious life.
