There is no better way to proclaim the gospel than through the lives of good people, Bishop Barry Hickey said in his first address as seventh Bishop of Geraldton.
"A community of people who live the gospel in a spirit of love and gentleness will attract others to become part of that community.- he told hundreds of people who packed St Francis Xavier Cathedral, including busloads of the bishop's former Italian parishioners from Highgate and West Perth. "The transformation of anger into patience, of hate into love, of anxiety into peace, of stn-row into joy, that occurs time and time again in the lives of Christian people offers hope and security to those lost in the confusion of the secular world.
