This was said last week by Father Gerard Holohan, director of religious education, when he launched the 84 page Teachers' Manual that will be supplemented by five other books outlining courses at the different levels. "The guidelines are part of a strategy to help schools share the faith," Father Holohan said. "This is a broader objective than merely teaching students about the faith. "Our difficulty lies in the fact that there are widely divergent views on what religious education is all about. "These guidelines are concerned simply with the part the Catholic school can play in the development of a student's faith. It is restricted to what a student can achieve between pre-primary and Year 12.

L ONDON: Cardinal Hume of Westminster has revealed permission for the wedding of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent came after a review of her ability to make the Catholic promise and the removal of certain obstacles from the future of her children. The couple were mar-
