Sydney's St Mary's Cathedral rocked to the enthusiastic applause of a congregation of more than 4000 people a ttending the installation of Edward Bede Clancy as the city's seventh Archbishop. In a moving and impressive ceremony attended by representatives of many religions, public figures and members of the judiciary, as well as representatives of Catholic bodies in the archdiocese, Cardinal Freeman invested his succesor with the pallium following a brief, sincere and touching homily.
