CELEBRATING 100 YEARS
• Bishop Quinn vsns principal celebrant of the Mass last Saturday that marked the 100th birthday of Florence May Byrne (pictured with her great - grand - children, David and Megan Corheft, of Nedlands). Seen behind the centenarian are her daughter, and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corbett, of Nedlands, with whom she had resided in her later, years before moving, to Nazareth House. Mrs. Byrne, still in good health, was born Florence Mansfield, inHay Street, Perth, one of 12 children. Her family were well known in singing circks and she was- leading contralto in St. Mary's Cathedral choir. Two of her sisters were also members of the choir. Among her eight grand-children is Father Tony Corbett, 0.M.I., of Moe, Victoria.
