ARCHBISHOP'S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

Albany Residents Help Monsignor Celebrate

My dear people,

A cliche often heard at the celebration of anniversaries is: "This is an historical occasion". Of all the great events of the past celebrated by us the most historically important is that of the birth of Christ. No happening has changed the course of the world's development so decisively; no occurance has been for the rise and fall of so many--not just Israel, as prophesied by Simeon, but also for those countless millions of individuals who have found in Jesus Christ either their hope and their salvation or the stone of scandal against which they have dashed themselves in vain.
