In an Australia-wide offer by the National Music Council to help promote interest in music it has authorised the Perth College of Music, 822 Hay S treet to announce the 1969 allocation of 1,200 scholarships to Western Australia. Free courses are available for beginners only on Piano Accordion, Guitar (Modern and Folk), Banjo Mandolin, Trumpet, Saxaphone, Clarinet and Drums. Music lessons consist of personal class tuition which will guarantee rapid advancement. Postal lessons, complete with diagrams, photographs, etc. are available for country people. Those who qualify will be granted a commencement course of free lessons suitable for beginners. Assistance to buy an instrument will be given if required.
