Top Canberra Post For Perth Catholic Education Director

Brophy Father G. S i., an uncle of the deceased boy, Peter Brophy, was the prin_ cipal celebrant at a Requiem Mass at Trinity College last Tuesday. Other celebrants were Father T. Phelan, his parish priest and Father P. Quinn. Peter died as the result of an accident at his home in Wem_ bley Downs on May 31. A popular sub_leav_ ing student at Trinity College, his Requiem w as the first to be held in the school chapel. Fellow students sang at the Mass under the direction of Father P. Ahern and f ormed a guard of honour in the driveway as the hearse left for Karrakatta Cemetery. Peter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brophy of Slalom Drive, Wembley Downs. May he rest in peace

THE PRESIDENT of the Australian Episcopal Conference, His Eminence Norman Thomas Cardinal Gilroy, announces the appointment of Monsignor James Bourke, B.A. ( Hons.) of the Archdiocese of Perth as the first Federal Director of Catholic Education.
