SOLVEDI A SPECIAL REPORT
THE PROBLEM of getting instruction to all Catholic children has well passed the point of providing Catholic schools. This was revealed last week when a group of priests met to hear a report on a new experiment in two local State high schools at Midland Junction and Applecross. It involves all the visiting clergy combining to teach an agreed Scripture syllabus to the whole school in rotation. The students are not divided into their denominational groups, but are taught in their respective school classes.
A committee of Perth business men under the patronage of the Minister for Industrial Affairs and the North West, the Hon. Charles Court, 0.B.E., M.L.A., have purchased this Cessna 182 for Bishop John Jobst, Bishop of the 260,000 square mile Broome Dio:ese. The amount raised was 25,000. Pictured with the business men at the blessing and dedication service held on Wednesday morning are Bishop M. McKeon, Bishop D. Witt, Anglican Bishop of the Kimberleys and the Reverend Laurie Statton, E xecutive Secretary of the WA. Council of Churches.
