Bishop Lyons Dies In Sale He was transferred as an Auxiliary Bishop to Cardinal Gilroy of Sydney in April, 1950, and appointed to the See of Sale as Coadjutor Bishop with the right of succession in 1956. He succeeded to the See on June 16, 1957, on the death of Bishop Richard Ryan, C.M., who had prey iously been Bishop of Geraldton from 1923 to 1926. R.I.P.
