The Term To Use On Census Form THE SIXTH AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH CENSUS IS TO BE TAKEN ON THE NIGHT BETWEEN JUNE 29 AND JUNE 30.
During the nights immediately prior to this date, 15,000 collectors will deliver census papers to every
home and dwelling in the nation and its territories. at the census. It is considered of national interest that a full and accurate response be received from the public Because of confusion caused in census results in previous years over what Catholics should call themselves, irrespective of what others may term us, the Bishops of Australia considered the question during their annual meeting in January. It was decided that all Catholics should use the terns "CATHOLIC" and NOT "Roman Catholic" on the official census form. This will be in the section on religion, which is the only non -compulsory question in the census. His Grace the Archbishop requests that all Catholic people of the Diocese use the term Catholic, which is the correct one, so that there will be
uniformity throughout Australia. The taking of a census and the answering of this question in particular can be of great assistance in checking our own census and of future planning of the Church.

Peter's Pence And College Appeal Sunday, July 2, the annual collection for Peter's Pence will be taken up in all parishes. This annual collection is used for the purpose of assisting in the many charitable works which the Holy See institutes and maintains throughout the world. In addition to the usual amount given for Peter's Pence, the Archdiocese is subscribing to a National Appeal to assist in the extensions of Propaganda College in Rome where many Australian priests have been trained. The extensions to this, one of the major seminaries of the world, where students from all missionary countries are trained will enable the college to take 400 100 of these will students available to made be students from Australia and New Zealand. At present Perth Archdiocese has an average of one place every three years at Propaganda. The new allotment should give an average of one a year. The two collections will be made in one. On
