ST. PATRICK, Mo.-(NC.)-St. Patrick's unofficial postmast-..-r, more formally known as the Rev. Francis O'Duignan, is getting ready for another avalanche. Father O'Duignan is pastor of St. Patrick's Church here, and is raising a fund to realise a dream-a national shrine in honour of Erin's patron Saint, to be built in St. Patrick, Mo.
For some years, Father O'Duignan has been receiving letters and post cards from all parts of the world, to be stamped with a bright green shamrock and mailed out from St. Patrick, Mo., with the St. Patrick postmark.
Father O'Duignan said that last year 25,000 letters and cards were mailed through him-and he expects that this year a greater number will be handled.
