Diocesan Eucharistic Festival Revived After Four Ye-ars Thousands Attend Aquinas College to Honour Christ's Kingship . 00 Impressive Rally of Holy Name Men and Boys Father Haugh's Inspiring. Buses and trams were taxed to capacity to transport the thousands who participated in the corporate act of worship , and a goodly number of pri• rate cars was in evidence. It was generally conceded that the spirit of reverence was most marked, and a pleasing feature was the fewness of spectators. Nearly all present marched and the hymns, interspersed with decades of the Rosary, were well taken up along the processional route. •-1s the worshippers followed the long, circuitous route to the oval, the spectacle from the College verandahs eras most impressive. The blues of the Children of Mary regalia and the Holy Name banners, the reds of the Sacred Heart sodalities' gonfalons, and the cloaks of the dainty little flowerstrewers, the brown habits of the Franciscan Tertiaries, and the greys of College uniforms made a contrast, and aharmony with the numerous greens of the bttshland background and the Canning River, The occasion was also the (Annual Rally of the Holy Name Society, and it was estimated that over a thousand men, representing every metropolitan branch, marched. Their massed ranks and fine deportment were a tribute to a deep spirit of faith. Especially praiseworthy was the splendid representation of junior branches from various schools. The procession commenced at 2.40 p.m., and was representative of the various Catholic societies and sodalities. As it passed around the College buildings, the Ble ssed Sacrament, carried by His Grace the Archbishop, was 1.- rue from the College Chapel. Preceded by a large body of Christian Bro[hers, of dinec^an and regular clergy, the Sacred ( lost, escorted by a guard f honour of Aquinas Cadets, was carried to the altar on the eastern side As the of the oval, where Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament was given. Monstrance was raisers in blessing, the cadets presented anus, and throughout the packed oval heads were bcnved in adoration. The procession then moved to the imposing white altar erected in the pavilion , where a second Benediction was given, and the occasional sermon was preached by Very Rev, Father Hargh, O.MI., as follows:— You have assembled to-day, from all parts of the metropolitan area, for an act of public homage to , Gur Eucharistic !.ord. Most appropriately is this function held on the great Feast of Christ the King. Amongst the means of salvation which Our Divine Lord has equipped His Church, none is greater than the_ Adorable Eucharist. It is the Church's shield in battle, refuge in danger, crown in victory, and greatest adornment in time of peace. It is the rainbow set in the spiritual firmament, the covenant of peace between sinful men and an insulted God—the infinite justice of God. And now clear brethren, as no one can remain near a great fire without feeling its warmth, so no one can remain near the great fire of the Blessed Sacrament and not be inflamed wits greater love, devotion and resolve. This day's grand demonstration of Faith, your prayers and hymns in the Divine Presence, must make you feel "that it is good for us to be here." it must make -you feel proud that you are linked in supernatural brotherhood with true believers of every race and clime . Let us reverently, then, salute Our Eucharistic King and renew our pledges of loyalty and devotion on this auspicious day. 1. Your first proof of devotedness and allegiance must be the determination to obey His law and the teachings of His Church: " If thou wilt enter into life keep the Commandments." 2.
