FadsVersusHistory.
IfthesestatementsofMr.Eastmanare correct(andIthinktheyare),itexplodesthetheoriesthatweBritish werepagansbeforeSt.Augustine cametoEngland. ItMr.Eastman'sstatementsarecorrect,theywouldcompletelyoverthrow mostoftheworld'shistory,letalone thatofEnglandpriortothecoming ofSt.AugustinetoKent. Buttheyarenotcorrect.There wereChristiansinEnglandpriortothe comingofSt.Augustine,forChristian. itywasbroughttocertainsectionsof thecountrybyearlyChristianmissionariesfromGaul,andlater,toamuch greaterextent,bymonksfromIreland. ThisearlyChristianityinwhatisnow knownasEnglandwaspracticallydestroyedintheearlyFifthCenturyby theinvasionsoftheAnglesandSaxons. Theinvaders,likemanyofthesurvivingBritons,werepagans.

TheReligionoftheDruids.
FromwhatIhaveread,theDruidreligionofearlyBritain,wasnot,as theRomanswouldhaveusbelieve, pagan.Instead,theDruidswerea righteous,God-fearingpeople,and theirreligionwasverysimilartothe ancientHebrewfaith.
