Wanneroo Concert, Sport A n enthusiastic audienc, ‘vitnessed the annual concert given by the pupils of St. Anthony's School. Wanneroo, on December 7. The opening choruses, ''The Torreador." and "The Meeting of the Waters." were warmly applauded. A song, "The Stars,- and a recitation, "The Clever Chicken," by the juniors, gained well-merited applause. The "Dunces.' by senior girls, caused much amusement. Then followed, a humr;rous sketch, "The Magic Shirt." Dan Leach, in his royal robes, made a s tately King; J. Siagra, Dr. Wiseman: J. Crisafulli, S. Agnello, C. Arrigo, J. Conti. courtiers; C. Gibbs filled the role of "Happy Man" to perfection. A "Colour Dance," by girls, was spectacular and greatly admired.. Little E va Chokolich then told the audience about ''A House to Let." This was f ollowed by "Heads and Heels," by junior 'boys, causing peals of laughter as the boys, apparently, danced on their heads. "Chiming Bells" was prettily sung by the girls. A number of dainty little maidens danced in perfect rhythm in "Merry Moments," which they, as well as the audience. thoroughly enjoyed. Zita Leach's sweet voice was heard to advantage in "Rose of Lucerne." The juniors were heartily applauded for their rendering of the action song ''Iley Diddle Diddle." a medley, and the recitation, "Bubbles." A pla.ylette. "Apartments to Let," f ollowed. The various characters were well sustained. L. Crisafulli, as Mrs. Gobblt .. made a clever landlady: M. Conti. licr rn. l. 'alvcd much amusement by her well-meant blunders. S. .Parin and Z. Leach, as Lavin? and Eunice, were two young ladies a.<pirjug to paint and write poet 'v. respectively, of which aspiration their aunt, Mrs. C,hoppington (M. .Muscat did not approve. - A 'pretty action song, "Umbrellas,- by little girls. followed. The senior boys acquitted themselves well in the recitation. "The Fire at Ross's l'artn," as also did the junior girls in the action song, "The Lost Doll."
"Gipsy Revels" by a number of girls in Gipsy costumes, made a gay scene. The finale. "Little King," and "God Sav, the King" brought the concert t o a close, when Rev. Father Langmead presented prizes won at th, Royal. Show and the Osborne Park Show. ANNUAL WANNER00 CHILDREN•S SPORTS.
