HE Catholic World celebrates every second year at different centres of the globe a great International Eucharistic Congress. They can without doubt be regarded as the most impressive religious manifestations of the present. Th3t which has just concluded, though staged in that part of Europe which is the cynosure of the world, has been totally disregarded by the secular press. At the conclusion of the broadcast, half a million pilgrims, from every nation under the sun, who were massed in Heroes' Square. dropped to their knees as one man for the Papal Blessing. Procession on Danube. The Papal Legate. His Eminence Cardinal Pacelli, on his arrival in Budapest for the Congress. was received by the Regent, M. de Horthy, and the entire Hungarian Cabinet, and was given a tumultuous welcome by the people. On Thursday night, the Legate carried the Blessed Sacrament in a Eucharistic procession of seven illuminated boats on the River Danube. Beacons and illuminations blazed from the hilltops, while over half a million people lined the river banks, holding torches and joining in the symphony of prayer, relayed througb amplifiers. The whole city of Budapest was suffused with floodlit radiance and was dominated by an illuminated cross on the hill. The procegsion concluded with the Apostolic Blessing, given by the Cardinal Legate.
