MISSION

As a Catholic college-preparatory secondary school, Archbishop Spalding High School is committed to challenging our students to grow spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. The school community provides a caring environment that affirms the dignity of the individual and promotes learning.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

Archbishop Spalding High School is conducting a feasibility study, surveying a select group of alumni, parents, benefactors, and other stakeholders to determine how best to serve the next generation of its students. This brief, preliminary outline provides an overview of the school’s vision for the future and describes the capital needs required to achieve that vision. Please take a few minutes to review this “emerging case” for philanthropic support before your feasibility meeting. The leadership of Archbishop Spalding High School seeks your candid input and feedback prior to making final capital funding decisions.

THE

STRATEGIC PLAN

As part of the efforts to continually improve Archbishop Spalding High School and serve our families, the Spalding Board of Directors recently completed a strategic plan, which calls on our community to accomplish several objectives. As outlined in our strategic plan, the many areas we seek to improve in our school include the physical space, infrastructure, and endowment.

The following capital priorities stem from the growing needs of our students and the vision outlined in Archbishop Spalding’s Strategic Plan. To ensure we continue delivering an exceptional Catholic, college-preparatory education, it is essential that we invest in facilities and resources that match the excellence of our programs. For Spalding to remain a leader in academics, athletics, arts, and faith formation and to attract and retain the next generation of Cavaliers we must address these critical improvements that will carry our mission forward for decades to come.

PRELIMINARY CASE FOR PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT

PHYSICAL SPACE

A new cafeteria and updated classrooms are essential to meeting the needs of today’s Spalding students. The redesigned cafeteria will provide the space needed for more students to gather at once, reducing the number of lunch periods required and allowing for smaller, more effective class sizes throughout the day. As a central hub of campus life, the cafeteria is one of the few spaces every student uses daily a place where friendships are built, ideas are shared, and our community comes together. By investing in this project, we are ensuring that every student benefits from a stronger academic environment and a more vibrant school community.

INFASTRUCTURE

Replacing Spalding’s aging boiler and adding air conditioning to the original gym are vital upgrades to our school’s infrastructure. These systems are not only essential to the comfort of our students and faculty, but also to the day-to-day operations that keep our community thriving. A reliable boiler ensures consistent heat throughout the winter months, while air conditioning in the gym transforms it into a space that can be fully utilized year-round for athletics, assemblies, and events. By addressing these critical needs, we are investing in the health, safety, and overall experience of every member of the Spalding family.

ENDOWMENT

Spalding’s Endowment is critical to the long-term health and stability of our school. A robust endowment will allow us to provide opportunities for the most deserving students to attend Spalding by helping to fund our robust tuition assistance program. Our goal is to double our endowment from approximately $2,500,000 to $5,000,000 over the next several years.
