I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, went to college in the city and stayed for 10 years after, then moved back to the suburbs for 20 years before moving to Charleston in 2019
WhatbroughtyoutotheArcadiafamily?
I worked at a book printer & manufacturer outside of Chicago for 18 years and wanted to learn about the publishing side of books, so I took a job as a print buyer at a Charleston publisher The company laid off half their employees 6 months after I got there I had seen Arcadia books in my local CVS and was intrigued by them, so I started watching Arcadia’s website for job openings. The SBT Project Manager role was posted in September 2021, and the rest is Arcadia history
My first “real” job (besides babysitting) was at a dry cleaner; some of the things I found in the pockets of clothes could definitely be called unusual and/or interesting And occasionally gross
Most of my time is spent on the upkeep of my house I purchased a year and half ago, along with the upkeep of my 2 dogs, Rafferty and Ruby, and my Russian tortoise Bruno. I’m currently working on the backyard, planting bushes and flowers that can withstand the Charleston area summers and creating an outdoor encloser for Bruno so he can enjoy it too
Hard to name a favorite book but my favorite genre is historical fiction (love anything by Kristin Hannah), which I rotate with non-fiction I just finished The Correspondent by Virgina Evans over the weekend and started on View from the East Wing: A Memoir by Dr Jill Biden Note, until my hands can’t hold them anymore, I will always buy printed copies of books�� Ifyouweretowriteabookaboutyourself,whatwouldyou nameit?

Author Lunch & Learns
We now offer monthly author Lunch & Learns for new authors These Lunch & Learns are designed specifically for first-time authors Each month, we'll feature an experienced author or speaker who will join one of our publicists for a 20-minute conversation on marketing and publicity strategies followed by an open mic for Q/A from the authors.
