Arcadia Contemporary proudly presents the debut U.S. exhibition of Spanish artist Fernando Cidoncha, on view from September 26 to October 13, 2024. This exhibition features 16 new paintings where Cidoncha’s figures transcend traditional depictions, embracing universal themes of connection, contemplation, and spirituality. His idealized subjects, often in spaces where music, dance, and reflection converge, are rendered with a timeless quality that speaks to the spiritual yearnings of the human heart. Inspired by Florence’s Renaissance heritage, Cidoncha uses the human form as a vessel for emotional and spiritual exploration, inviting viewers into spaces of introspection.
Based in Florence, Cidoncha is Vice Director and professor at the Sacred Art School. His academic background in Human Sciences, Philosophical and Artistic Studies, and sculpture informs his work, exploring the human form as a path to spiritual awakening and emotional resonance.
