Arcadia Contemporary is proud to present “Forever Ago,” the third solo exhibition from American painter, Alex Venezia. Featuring 14 new oil paintings, this exhibition marks an extraordinary evolution in his approach to narrative imagery and composition.
Venezia’s latest body of work explores a sense of openness—both in physical space and artistic vision. Having recently relocated from North Carolina to Connecticut with time spent painting en plein air in Australia, the artist’s compositions have shifted from enclosed,
foliage-rich settings to vast landscapes where the sky and distant horizon play a defining role. This shift reflects not only a change in environment but also a deeper exploration of constructed imagery, as Venezia takes greater control in shaping his subjects’ worlds rather than responding solely to what is in front of him.
Executed with the meticulous craftsmanship that has earned Venezia recognition from
numerous artistic organizations including The Grand Prize from the recent competition
