ARBOR’S REAL WOOD POWERPLY

Since the beginning, Arbor’s Powerply veneer topsheets have been made with sustainably sourced wood and bamboo material whose organic fiber drives performance through natural power, strength and longevity. Additionally, the individuality of each slice of veneer provides every board a one-of-a-kind aesthetic that is otherwise impossible to replicate. From forest to snowboard - it’s a process and here’s a look at how that happens for Arbor.

TIMELINE

Raw logs are harvested from a range of globally available sustainable sources.

1 Cleaned logs are soaked so they can be sliced, rather than sawn, which dramatically stretches each resource.

2 Soaked logs are sliced into sheet veneer, and then assembled into Powerply topsheets.

3 A single-layer Powerply is backed with a permeable cloth material to increase strength & bonding.

5 The now two-layer Powerply is sanded and pre-laminated to a protective, bioplastic topsheet to increase durability.

6 An assembled three-piece Powerply is laminated onto the finished snowboard during the pressing process.

7 Sustainable, durable, performance-driven, and aesthetically unique snowboards are ride-ready to get on the mountain.

PARABOLIC PROFILING ARBOR’S PROPRIETARY SHAPING TECHNOLOGIES

Different from traditional camber lines on snowboards, Parabolic Profiling is an advanced mathematical shaping technique that replaces a single radius arc with a blend of five separate radii to create a parabolic arc, gradually reducing the amount of camber or rocker toward the tip and tail for a more natural connection to the snow. On Camber shapes, it allows both the leading and finishing edges to run smoother. And on System Rocker shapes, lowers the leading edge to improve grip and edge hold.

GRIP TECH

Grip Tech is a design feature that creates an ergonomic and direct connection between the edge of a snowboard and the snow through added heel and toe contact points. It provides improved handling and response time with added edge control on the resort and in mixed conditions. These added contact points also make it possible for Arbor to offer Rocker designs that hold an edge unlike most other reverse camber boards available.

FENDER TECH

Fender Tech is a 3D feature that symmetrically pulls a snowboards outer contact points up off the snow. On System Camber models, fenders can be found in both the nose and tail at the traditional contact points and are designed to create smoother turn initiation and finish. On System Rocker models, their primary purpose is added flotation on deep days.

Transfers rider input out to four heel-and-toe convergence zones, improving communication and control of your edge.
