My current breeding program started with Dancin. She has every quality I would want to pass down through breeding, so I dove right in when she was old enough! Being the granddam for future years will be a gift Dancin will just keep on giving. I’m blessed to have a couple amazing mares out of her that are just getting started breeding.

All of Dancin’s babies have her drive for perfection, which is something hard to teach. Dancin’s 4-year-old, Preachers Son by KW Micah, is most like her. He’s strong and athletic, with the same mindset as her … and, of course, solid bay.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST VIVID/IMPACTFUL MEMORY ABOUT THIS MARE? AND/OR ONE OF HER FOALS?
Definitely, when Dancin won her age group and reserve champion in the Country Jackpot at Nationals the same year as her oldest baby, Nirvanas Heir, did exactly in the Half-Arabian category. Close second is watching her win the open championship at Scottsdale with Lauren Krohn early in Dancin’s career. Lauren bred her, raised her, and trains her, so it was extra special.

What an incredible journey this mare has taken me on, and I can’t help but feel excited about her ongoing contributions to my breeding program and the breed as a whole. She is the proud mother of Salah, the horse who inspired me to embark on this adventure again. Sabiine is a superstar and has produced many exceptional offspring, which makes the future even more thrilling. I remember the joy Salah brought me during our four years together, showcasing his stunning presence across California.
Now, with Sabiine back in my life, I can hardly wait to see what magic unfolds. As soon as she became available, I knew it was essential for her to be here with her son. We even arranged for Dr. Joy to retrieve some oocytes from her before she left Varian Arabians. The most thrilling part? We have a foal on the way—a Sabiine and Verdict J baby—due on May 4! I can hardly contain my excitement at the possibility of this little one becoming the next champion. I’m absolutely hopeful! Inquiries are encouraged, as this mare’s relaxed and friendly personality makes her truly special.
Even though she is officially retired, Sabiine leads a lively life, and it’s delightful to see her excitement as she races to the top pasture to be one of our teasing mares, often playfully interacting with the stallion—sometimes twice a day. She’s enjoying her time outside, relishing treats and gentle brushes, especially when the promise of a little bucket of grain is on the horizon. Beyond that, she has taken on the sweet nurturing role of babysitting our more nervous horses, lovingly caring for our first foal crop as their “stepmother.” It’s heartwarming to see how seamlessly she gets along with the other horses, never causing any fuss and always patiently waiting for her turn to eat—though she knows that the feeder at the top of the hill has that extra scoop of Platinum and Strategy just for her.
Her remarkable track record of exceptional babies, each with different stallions, gives me so much anticipation for the amazing personalities they inherit from her. It’s rare to have a mare that you truly cherish having around, and Sabiine is certainly one of those. Even when it rains, she prefers to be outside, cleverly managing her surroundings with her son always by her side.
As we eagerly await her next baby, carried by our recipient Andalusian mare, Rain, and due on May 4, the excitement is mounting! The future holds so much promise, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store!

JR Roxanne may be the most easily overlooked mare in the barn, yet she perfectly embodies the Shakespearean line, “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” We jokingly say she is perhaps 14 hands in heels – petite, refined, and unmistakably feminine. Over the years, she has produced four Half-Arabian foals who have gone on to remarkable success in the performance arena. Roxanne is the quiet constant behind them all. She is a patient and devoted mother, imbuing within her foals not only beautiful movement and type, but a sense of confidence and willingness that can only be attributed to her maternal influence.
Parallel 49 Arabians is honored to own three of those four performance horses: Fiftyshades of Bay LR+/, by Majesteit, along with True North PFA and Fiftyshadesdarker PFA, both by Devon. Though they are each unique, what they all have in common is their intelligence, personality, and heart. Their presence in the show ring is unmistakable, and at least for us at Parallel 49, takes our breath away every time.
Roxanne came into our lives unexpectedly; truthfully, she more or less fell into our laps. After lifelong dreams of breeding an Arabian–Friesian cross, we discovered she was for sale in Scottsdale and already in foal to the great Friesian stallion, Devon. To us, it felt like it was meant to be, and the decision to acquire Roxanne was probably made in less than a minute. And yet, in that minute, the future of Parallel 49 Arabians was created. Roxanne is an exemplar of the Arabian mare, and she quickly asserted herself as the keystone of our breeding program.
It would be easy to attribute all our foals’ successes to their incredible sires, but Roxanne reminds us just how fundamental the right mare is in breeding great performance horses. Beyond genetics alone, a mare shapes the early environment that defines a foal’s confidence, temperament, and resilience for life. In Roxanne, we found not just a producer, but the foundation upon which our program was built.
As if her story were not already remarkable, Roxanne is once again in foal with a 2026 arrival eagerly anticipated. We are deeply grateful to steward her legacy and to call her our forever mare, and we look forward with immense excitement and gratitude to welcoming the next generation shaped by her quiet strength, generosity, and excellence.
