Nos enorgullece presentar la edición número 25 de la revista Arabella Golf Mallorca en un año verdaderamente especial. En 2025 celebramos el 25 aniversario de Golf Son Muntaner, que además ha sido reconocido como el Mejor Campo de España en los World Golf Awards, un hito histórico para Mallorca que queremos compartir con usted.

Este logro es fruto del esfuerzo y la pasión de nuestro equipo, así como de la confianza de quienes nos visitan cada año. El golf vive un gran momento, y por ello le invitamos a disfrutar de nuestros cuatro campos —Son Muntaner, Son Vida, Son Quint y Palma Pitch & Putt— y de amplias zonas de práctica para todos los niveles.

Durante este último año hemos seguido apostando por la mejora continua. Y seguimos. Entre otros, en Son Muntaner, finalizaremos la renovación de los caminos, mejorando la movilidad y el confort en el recorrido; en Son Quint, estrenaremos nueve greens completamente nuevos, elevando la calidad del juego; y en Son Vida, nuestros jugadores ya disfrutarán de una nueva flota de buggies, pensada para ofrecer la máxima comodidad y eficiencia.

Con la vista puesta en 2026, seguimos desarrollando nuevos proyectos para superar expectativas y consolidar a Arabella Golf Mallorca como destino de referencia en el Mediterráneo.

We are proud to present the 25th edition of the Arabella Golf Mallorca magazine in a truly remarkable year. In 2025 we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Golf Son Muntaner, which has also been recognised as the Best Golf Course in Spain at the World Golf Awards, a historic milestone for Mallorca that we are delighted to share with you.

This achievement is the result of the dedication and passion of our team, as well as the trust of all those who visit us year after year. Golf is experiencing a great moment, and we warmly invite you to enjoy our four courses — Son Muntaner, Son Vida, Son Quint and Palma Pitch & Putt — along with extensive practice areas for every level of play.

Over the past year, we have continued to invest in continuous improvement, and we’re not stopping. Among other updates, at Son Muntaner we will complete the renovation of the pathways, enhancing mobility and comfort throughout the course; at Son Quint we will inaugurate nine entirely new greens, raising the overall playing quality; and at Son Vida, players can already enjoy a brand-new fleet of buggies designed to offer maximum comfort and efficiency.

Looking ahead to 2026, we continue developing new projects to exceed expectations and reinforce Arabella Golf Mallorca as a leading destination in the Mediterranean.

Wir freuen uns, Ihnen die 25. Ausgabe des Magazins Arabella Golf Mallorca in einem wirklich besonderen Jahr zu präsentieren. 2025 feiern wir das 25-jährige Jubiläum von Golf Son Muntaner, das zudem bei den World Golf Awards als Bester Golfplatz Spaniens ausgezeichnet wurde, ein historischer Meilenstein für Mallorca, den wir gern mit Ihnen teilen.

Dieser Erfolg ist das Ergebnis der Leidenschaft und des Engagements unseres Teams sowie des Vertrauens all jener, die uns Jahr für Jahr besuchen. Der Golfsport erlebt eine großartige Phase, und wir laden Sie herzlich ein, unsere vier Plätze – Son Muntaner, Son Vida, Son Quint und Palma Pitch & Putt – sowie großzügige Übungsbereiche für jedes Spielniveau zu genießen.

Im vergangenen Jahr haben wir weiter konsequent auf kontinuierliche Verbesserung gesetzt, und machen damit weiter. Unter anderem werden wir auf Son Muntaner die Erneuerung der Wege abschließen, um Mobilität und Komfort entlang der Runde zu verbessern; auf Son Quint nehmen wir neun komplett neue Grüns in Betrieb, die die Spielqualität deutlich steigern; und auf Son Vida steht unseren Spielern bereits eine neue BuggyFlotte zur Verfügung, die auf maximalen Komfort und Effizienz ausgelegt ist.

Mit Blick auf 2026 arbeiten wir bereits an neuen Projekten, um Erwartungen zu übertreffen und die Position von Arabella Golf Mallorca als führendes Reiseziel im Mittelmeerraum weiter zu festigen.

Golf Son Vida has successfully completed the consolidation phase of the greens across its 18 holes, achieving outstanding performance that has been widely praised by players.

The Agrostis 007 turf variety has settled optimally, standing out for its density, uniformity, disease resistance and excellent ball roll. These qualities ensure a top-level playing surface and consistent performance throughout the year.

As part of the course improvements, the new putting green beside the halfway house is now fully operational, located just before the 1st and 10th tees. This new area allows players to fine-tune their putting under ideal conditions before starting their round.

Hubo un momento en que entendí que el golf no era solo una pasión, sino el camino en el que quería volcar toda mi energía.

¿Qué aprendizajes te dejó la victoria en el Santander Golf Tour 2024 y cómo marcó tu evolución posterior?

Esa victoria fue un punto de inflexión. Me demostró que el trabajo constante da resultados, pero también que la clave está en mantener la calma en los momentos decisivos. Aprendí a confiar más en mi rutina y en mi proceso. Después de ese triunfo, me sentí con más madurez competitiva.

¿Qué destacarías de los campos de Arabella Golf Mallorca como entorno para prepararte al máximo nivel?

Ofrece unas condiciones excepcionales. Los campos están siempre en un estado impecable, y cada uno tiene su propio carácter. Además, el entorno natural, el clima y las instalaciones crean un ambiente perfecto para entrenar concentrada y a la vez disfrutar del proceso.

¿Tienes algún rincón favorito en el resort?

Sin ninguna duda, me encanta la zona de práctica de Son Muntaner al atardecer. Tiene algo especial: la luz, el silencio y la vista sobre el campo crean un ambiente muy inspirador para terminar el día entrenando.

¿Qué sensaciones te transmite jugar en Son Muntaner, Son Vida o Son Quint?

Lo mejor de Arabella Son Muntaner es exigente y técnico, un campo de competición en toda regla, en el que la precisión es fundamental. Son Vida tiene ese encanto más clásico, con calles muy estrechas que exigen mucho desde el tee. En mi opinión, perfecto para trabajar la focalización en los drives. Y Son Quint es más moderno, con un diseño que te invita a ser agresiva en el juego. En conjunto, forman un entorno muy completo para cualquier profesional.

Si tuvieras que definir en una frase lo que significa para ti el golf y Mallorca, ¿cuál sería?

Para mí significa disfrute, pasión, naturaleza y paz.

Yes, I remember it very well. At some point, I realised that golf wasn’t just a passion, it was the path I wanted to pour all my energy into.

What did you learn from your victory in the Santander Golf Tour 2024, and how did it shape your evolution afterwards?

That victory was a turning point. It proved to me that consistent work brings results, but also that the key is staying calm in decisive moments. I learned to trust my routine and my process more. After that win, I felt a greater sense of competitive maturity.

What would you highlight about the Arabella Golf Mallorca courses as a setting to prepare at the highest level?

They offer exceptional conditions. The courses are always in impeccable shape, and each one has its own character. On top of that, the natural surroundings, the climate and the facilities create the perfect environment to train with full focus while still enjoying the process.

Do you have a favourite spot in the resort?

Without a doubt, I love the practice area at Son Muntaner at sunset. It has something special: the light, the silence and the view over the course create a truly inspiring atmosphere to end the day training.

What sensations do you get when playing Son Muntaner, Son Vida or Son Quint?

The best thing about Arabella is the variety. Son Muntaner is demanding and technical — a true championship course where precision is essential. Son Vida has that more classic charm, with narrow fairways that really challenge you from the tee; in my opinion, it’s perfect for working on drive focus. And Son Quint is more modern, with a design that invites you to play aggressively. Together, they create a very complete environment for any professional.

If you had to define in one sentence what golf and Mallorca mean to you, what would it be?

For me, it means enjoyment, passion, nature and peace.

Welche Erkenntnisse hat dir der Sieg auf der Santander Golf Tour 2024 gebracht, und wie hat er deine weitere Entwicklung geprägt?

Dieser Sieg war ein Wendepunkt. Er hat mir gezeigt, dass kontinuierliche Arbeit Ergebnisse liefert – aber auch, dass der Schlüssel darin liegt, in den entscheidenden Momenten ruhig zu bleiben. Ich habe gelernt, meinem Rhythmus und meinem Prozess stärker zu vertrauen. Nach diesem Triumph fühlte ich mich wettbewerbsmäßig reifer.

Was würdest du an den Plätzen von Arabella Golf Mallorca als Trainingsumfeld auf höchstem Niveau besonders hervorheben?

Sie bieten außergewöhnliche Bedingungen. Die Plätze sind immer in einem tadellosen Zustand, und jeder von ihnen hat seinen eigenen Charakter. Außerdem schaffen die natürliche Umgebung, das Klima und die Anlagen ein ideales Ambiente, um konzentriert zu trainieren und gleichzeitig den Prozess zu genießen.

Hast du einen Lieblingsplatz im Resort?

Ohne jeden Zweifel: Ich liebe den Übungsbereich von Son Muntaner bei Sonnenuntergang. Er hat etwas Besonderes – das Licht, die Ruhe und der Blick über den Platz schaffen eine sehr inspirierende Atmosphäre, um den Trainingstag ausklingen zu lassen.

Welche Eindrücke vermitteln dir Son Muntaner, Son Vida und Son Quint beim Spielen?

Das Beste an Arabella ist die Vielfalt. Son Muntaner ist anspruchsvoll und technisch – ein echter Wettkampfplatz, auf dem Präzision entscheidend ist. Son Vida hat diesen klassischen Charme, mit sehr schmalen Fairways, die vom Tee aus viel abverlangen; meiner Meinung nach perfekt, um die Konzentration beim Drive zu trainieren. Und Son Quint ist moderner, mit einem Design, das zu einem aggressiveren Spiel einlädt. Zusammen bilden sie ein äußerst komplettes Umfeld für jede professionelle Spielerin.

Wenn du in einem Satz sagen müsstest, was Golf und Mallorca für dich bedeuten – welcher wäre es?

En esta entrevista, Rudy comparte cómo nació su pasión por el golf, qué le aportan Son Muntaner, Son Vida y Son Quint, y por qué Arabella se ha convertido en su casa deportiva más allá de la cancha.

¿Cómo empezó tu relación con el golf?

Empecé jugando al golf porque tenía muchos amigos que ya lo practicaban. Uno de ellos es Pau Gasol, que siempre me insistía y me picaba para que me animara a probar. Empecé dando clases y pegando bolas, y la verdad es que no me imaginaba que me iba a enganchar tanto.

¿Qué te aporta el golf diferente a otros deportes?

Este deporte me ofrece la posibilidad de seguir compitiendo, algo que siempre me ha encantado. No solo contra otros, sino también contra mí mismo. Además, te permite disfrutar jugando con personas de niveles muy distintos, aunque no tengan tu mismo hándicap. Esa mezcla de reto personal y competencia es lo que lo hace tan especial para mí.

Cuando vienes a jugar a Arabella Golf Mallorca, ¿qué es lo que más disfrutas del resort?

Los campos son espectaculares. Tienes la posibilidad de jugar en tres campos distintos, y eso es un punto muy importante. Yo suelo ir sobre todo a Son Muntaner porque me encanta, es un campo que disfruto muchísimo. Pero en cualquiera de los tres se nota lo bien cuidados que están y la atención al detalle.

¿Tienes alguna rutina o ritual antes de salir al campo?

No soy muy de rutinas en el golf. Cuando era profesional sí las tenía, pero ahora soy más flexible. Aun así, siempre me gusta dar unas bolas antes de salir al campo y hacer buenos estiramientos, que para mí son fundamentales.

De los tres campos de Arabella, ¿hay alguno que te atraiga más por su ambiente o por lo que transmite?

Difícil quedarse solo con uno de los tres, pero si tuviera que elegir diría que Son Muntaner. Es un campo que me gusta muchísimo. Aun así, la verdad es que en cualquiera de los tres se disfruta muchísimo poder jugar.

En tu “día perfecto” en Mallorca, ¿qué no faltaría? Es difícil porque la isla tiene tantísimo que disfrutar. Pero si tengo que hacerlo, empezaría desayunando un ‘llonguet’ en el Bar Bosch como hacía de pequeño. Después pasar el día jugando al golf con amigos. Y, en tercer lugar, como tengo muy buenos amigos de la infancia aquí en Mallorca, me iría a tomar algo con ellos y a disfrutar de las terrazas, del clima y del ambiente de la isla.

In this interview, Rudy shares how his passion for golf began, what Son Muntaner, Son Vida and Son Quint bring to his game, and why Arabella has become his sporting home beyond the court.

How did your relationship with golf begin?

I started playing golf because many of my friends were already into it. One of them was Pau Gasol, who kept encouraging me—and teasing me a bit—to give it a try. I began taking lessons and hitting balls, and honestly, I never imagined I would get so hooked.

What does golf give you that other sports don’t?

This sport allows me to keep competing, which is something I’ve always loved—not just against others, but also against myself. And it lets you enjoy the game with people of very different levels, even if they don’t share your handicap. That mix of personal challenge and competition with others is what makes it so special for me.

When you come to play at Arabella Golf Mallorca, what do you enjoy most about the resort?

The courses are spectacular. You have the chance to play on three different courses, and that’s a huge advantage. I usually go mostly to Son Muntaner because I love it—it’s a course I enjoy enormously. But on all three, you can really feel the care that goes into maintaining them and the attention to detail.

Do you have any routine or ritual before heading out on the course?

I’m not very ritualistic in golf. When I was a professional I did have routines, but now I’m more flexible. Even so, I always like to hit a few balls before the round and do some good stretching, which for me is essential.

Of the three Arabella courses, is there one that attracts you more for its atmosphere or what it conveys?

It’s hard to pick just one, but if I had to choose, I’d say Son Muntaner. It’s a course I really love. Still, the truth is that playing on any of the three is always a great experience.

On your “perfect day” in Mallorca, what couldn’t be missing?

It’s difficult because the island has so much to enjoy. But if I have to choose, I’d start by having a llonguet at Bar Bosch like I did when I was a kid. Then I’d spend the day playing golf with friends. And lastly, since many of my childhood friends still live here in Mallorca, I’d go out for a drink with them and enjoy the terraces, the weather and the atmosphere of the island.

Wie begann deine Beziehung zum Golfsport?

Ich begann mit dem Golfspielen, weil viele meiner Freunde bereits damit angefangen hatten. Einer von ihnen war Pau Gasol, der mich immer wieder ermutigte – und ein bisschen herausforderte – es auszuprobieren. Ich fing an, Unterricht zu nehmen und Bälle zu schlagen, und ehrlich gesagt hätte ich nie gedacht, dass es mich so fesseln würde.

Was gibt dir der Golfsport, das andere Sportarten dir nicht geben?

Dieser Sport gibt mir die Möglichkeit, weiterhin zu konkurrieren –etwas, das ich schon immer geliebt habe. Nicht nur gegen andere, sondern auch gegen mich selbst. Außerdem erlaubt er dir, gemeinsam mit Menschen sehr unterschiedlicher Spielstärken zu spielen, selbst wenn sie nicht dein Handicap haben. Diese Mischung aus persönlicher Herausforderung und Wettbewerb mit anderen macht Golf für mich so besonders.

Was genießt du am meisten, wenn du im Arabella Golf Mallorca spielst?

Die Plätze sind spektakulär. Du hast die Möglichkeit, auf drei verschiedenen Golfplätzen zu spielen, und das ist ein großer Vorteil. Ich gehe meistens nach Son Muntaner, weil ich diesen Platz einfach liebe – ich genieße es jedes Mal aufs Neue. Aber auf allen drei Plätzen spürt man die Pflege und die Liebe zum Detail.

Hast du eine bestimmte Routine oder ein Ritual, bevor du auf die Runde gehst?

Ich bin im Golf nicht besonders ritualorientiert. Als Profi hatte ich zwar Routinen, aber heute bin ich flexibler. Trotzdem schlage ich vor der Runde immer ein paar Bälle und mache gute Dehnübungen, die für mich unerlässlich sind.

Gibt es unter den drei Arabella-Plätzen einen, der dich wegen seiner Atmosphäre oder Ausstrahlung besonders anspricht? Es ist schwer, nur einen auszuwählen, aber wenn ich mich entscheiden müsste, würde ich Son Muntaner sagen. Es ist ein Platz, den ich wirklich sehr mag. Aber ehrlich gesagt macht es auf allen drei Plätzen großen Spaß zu spielen.

Was dürfte an deinem „perfekten Tag“ auf Mallorca nicht fehlen? Schwer zu sagen, denn die Insel hat so unglaublich viel zu bieten. Aber wenn ich mich festlegen muss: Ich würde mit einem Llonguet im Bar Bosch beginnen – so wie in meiner Kindheit. Danach würde ich den Tag mit Freunden auf dem Golfplatz verbringen. Und schließlich, da viele meiner Freunde aus der Kindheit noch hier auf Mallorca leben, würde ich mit ihnen etwas trinken gehen und die Terrassen, das Klima und die Atmosphäre der Insel genießen.

UNA RUTA POR SUS COMERCIOS CON ALMA

Hay ciudades que se descubren andando, y Palma es una de ellas. Basta desviarse de las calles más transitadas para encontrar esos comercios que han acompañado la vida de la ciudad durante generaciones. La ruta empieza en La Pajarita, un establecimiento fundado en el siglo XIX que combina bombonería y colmado en un mismo espacio lleno de historia. A un lado, sus bombones artesanos, frutas confitadas y caramelos mantienen viva la memoria dulce de Palma. Al otro, la selección de productos gourmet, embutidos, conservas y especialidades locales evoca el espíritu de los antiguos colmados, esos que abastecían a familias enteras con cercanía y oficio. A pocos pasos, el histórico Forn des Teatre, hoy regentado por el Fornet de la Soca, continúa honrando la tradición panadera de la ciudad.
