Emphasizing circular economy principles and sustainable practices, the project will convert underutilized areas into lively centers that foster human connections and integrate nature.
Focusing on inclusivity and accessibility, the project honors cultural traditions of gathering, preserving local heritage while providing a platform for new traditions and cultures to flourish.
By adopting innovative design strategies, it aims to enhance community interaction and promote mental and physical well-being.
Serving as a model for urban regeneration, this initiative prioritizes community health, celebrates diversity, and harmonizes natural and artificial environments. The project reimagines modern gathering places, fostering strong bonds, unity, shared experiences, and community engagement, contributing to resilient urban environments in the postpandemic era.

RETROFIT THE OLDAGE
Design for the 49-51 Corporation street to be mixed use development.
Location
Adjacent to 49-51 Corporation street Coventry,Uk
The project aims to retrofit and expand 49-51 Corporation Street into a mixed-use space with housing and a VR Centre/black box theatre, reflecting community preferences. The design integrates with the adjacent garden and adheres to RIBA 2030 standards, aligning with Coventry’s sustainable urbanization plans, enhancing the city’s urban fabric, and supporting long-term environmental and social goals.
Place making: The whole concept of the building is to be light; the lower floors are meant to be dense and users can interact with the park spaces that is adjacent to the site and will allow for public accessibility, to the building throught the amphitheatre. The park space has a landscaping design that defines zones with
efficient privacy, accessibility and circulation.
User experience: The project leverages the pocket park as an integral element of the building’s programming, ensuring it remains inviting and transparent for community activities. Key spaces within the building are designed to be adaptable, accommodating various events and enhancing the building’s functionality and vitality.
As the brief demands, retrofit strategies are applied. Fine-tuning existing building to be energy efficient, prioritising the retention, reuse and repurposing of existing IKEA building and other buildings where possible and where retrofit upgrades make carbon sense from a whole life perspective are aimed at.

Addition of a new block to the existing structure will be designed to seamlessly integrate the park into the building. This integration will maintain the park’s accessibility and openness to the public, preventing it from being enclosed or restricted.
Strategic addition and removal of masses will create a functional massing that offers opportunities for innovative façade treatments. This approach will enable a dynamic architectural expression while enhancing the building’s usability and aesthetic appeal.

Opportunities have been identified in the existing site and building. These include the potential to develop a charming pocket park, the utilization of the existing basement, and the possibility of creating a focal point at the main junction. Drawing inspiration from its context, the design incorporates repetitive elements for façade treatment and carefully scales spaces and masses to create engaging interior experiences.
Altering the landscape character to seamlessly integrate it with the building will enhance the overall user experience. This design approach will create a unified environment where the natural and built elements interact harmoniously.
Assigning final programming to the masses and altering them accordingly to suit the needs of occupants will create an indoor-outdoor relationship, establishing key spaces. This approach will ensure the design is functional and responsive, enhancing connectivity and interaction

The mixed-use development project is strategically located on a prominent site bordered by two main streets and facing a major road. The development includes a retail center and apartment units, complemented by a central recreational space. This project aims to offer a sense of tranquility to the community through its central green hub and park situated at the entrance, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Existing vegetation is preserved within the greenspace, enhancing the recreational zone of the apartment tower. This design approach not only reduces stress levels but also continuously provides clean air quality. The development serves as a haven for anyone seeking a peaceful environment to relax in after a long day at work or to simply enjoy leisurely.
The project aims to conserve the extensive green space existing on the site, thereby enhancing the microclimatic conditions of the surrounding context. The design process intends to create a mixed-use development, incorporating both residential and commercial functions that relate to and complement each other through thoughtful site design. Additionally, the project seeks to establish a harmonious mix of uses that respond to the existing context, ensuring that the building design and street orientation work together cohesively.

LIVE PROJECT
The Small House: Residential Concept
Location
Palissery, Thrissur, Kerala, india
Freelance
Nestled along a bustling thoroughfare, the Residential Live Project harmonizes with its urban surroundings while embracing the serenity of nature. Situated around an existing well, the design preserves a vital piece of history within the contemporary fabric. Though the decision to retain the well reduced the buildable area, it imbued the project with a sense of rootedness and reverence for the site’s heritage.
The design process was meticulously tailored to the client’s vision, prioritizing essential living spaces: a kitchen and three bedrooms with attached toilets. Embracing a rectangular geometry, the layout seamlessly integrates with the site’s contours, optimizing functionality and flow.
Spatial planning evolved organically, informed by thorough analysis of user comfort, site conditions, and Vastu principles. By strategically placing water usage areas vertically, excess plumbing materials were minimized, reducing construction costs without compromising on quality or convenience.
The result is a thoughtfully crafted residence that not only meets practical needs but also honors the site’s history and fosters a harmonious relationship between architecture and environment.
