MT HENRY PENINSULA CONSERVATION GROUP NEWSLETTER
WELCOME BACK FOR 2024 Bush Care has officially started for 2024 and boy do we have our work cut out for us this year. After no significant rainfall since September 2023 our bushland is desperate for a decent rainfall. Despite being thirsty our plants are continuing strong and growing like no tomorrow. This means plenty of work pruning back overhanging branches and limbs. This year we will continue to mulch the firebreak track focusing our efforts at top end of the track where is has been heavily eroded and along the Freeway Boundary. Fingers crossed the cooler months will bring the rain with it as we prepare for our planting season in which 200+ Native Tube stock (kindly donated by The City of South Perth) will be added to our 2024 Revegetation Zone. The Mt Henry Peninsula Conservation Group (MHPCG) will continue to offer 3 Bush Care Sessions for 2024. Junior School will be undertaken on Wednesday during the school day (2-3pm), After School Bush Care (3:30-4:30) and Saturday Bush Care every second Saturday (1:15-3:30). Any Parents, Guardians or MHPCG Volunteers who wish to attend and have a valid Working With Children Permit please email Maddison Nicholls on maddison.nicholls@aquinas.wa.edu.au We look forward to another busy year protecting our Banksia Woodland
