MILTON, Ga. — On Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Crabapple Fest will return to downtown Milton for a day of family-friendly fun. The city of Milton invites residents to shop for items and grab refreshments or snacks. Crabapple Road will be transformed into a market lined with more than 100 vendors featuring various handmade items. The festival stretches along Crabapple Road from the roundabout at Crabapple Road and Heritage Walk to the intersection of Birmingham Highway and Broadwell Road. Activities will take place in the Crabapple Market area, including The Green and the City Hall parking lot.
By ANNABELLE REITER annabelle@appenmedia.com MILTON, Ga. — In recent weeks, four area high school lacrosse players from Milton, West Forsyth and Wesleyan have been announced as members of a national team. Team USA’s U17 and U19 squads will be hosting Canada and the Haudenosaunee Nationals Sept. 25-27 at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland, for the Brogden Cup. Several weeks later, the teams will compete again in Oshawa, Ontario, for the second annual Rivalry Challenge against Canada Oct. 9-11. The Brogden Cup originated in 1988, named after Olympic goalie Mac Brogden, a Johns Hopkins alumnus who represented Team USA in the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Lacrosse is set to return to the Olympics, and to Los Angeles 96 years later, and Team USA has recently selected their players.
