By DEAN HESSE newsroom@appenmedia.com MILTON, Ga. — The city of Milton honored U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces during its Memorial Day Ceremony at City Hall May 25. The ceremony included the mayor's reading of the city's proclamation recognizing May

25 as Memorial Day in Milton, the presentation of colors and the performance of the national anthem. The Rev. Chip Magner, retired U.S. Navy captain, opened with an invocation. "We remember not only names etched in monuments, but lives filled with courage, sacrifice and love of country," Magner said. Mayor Peyton Jamison, in his

welcoming remarks, reflected on the human cost of military service. "We remember those who left home and never returned," Jamison said. "Every name, every marker, every flag placed in honor represents a life — not an idea, not a statistic — a life, a person with a story, a family, faith, courage, humor, and love."
