Milton Historical Society lays plans for Spring Fling MILTON, Ga. — The Milton Historical Society’s fifth annual Spring Fling will be held Friday, April 24 in the Wildflower Barn at Little River Farms, 14505C Batesville Road. The social outing will begin at 7 p.m. and offer live entertainment, finger foods and a beer and wine bar for partygoers to enjoy. Visitors can browse historic exhibits throughout the venue as the purpose of the event is to educate the public on Milton’s history. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online until April 17. — Hannah Yahne

McConnell-Chadwick House in line for National Registry By HANNAH YAHNE hannah@appenmedia.com MILTON, Ga. — The McConnell-Chadwick House, a Greek Revival-style home from the late 1830s, was deemed eligible by Georgia's Department of Com-
munity Affairs to apply for the National Register of Historic Places. The Chadwick House Preservation Committee and Milton Historical Society received the news March 26 and can now begin the application.
The McConnell-Chadwick House was one of the earliest structures in what was then Cherokee County and belonged to Brig. Gen. and State Sen. Eli McConnell.
