The Boardwalk courses through heart of the city By JON WILCOX | jon@appenmedia.com JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Boardwalk, Johns Creek’s yearsin-the-making gathering space, is about community, place and a sense of identity, Mayor John Bradberry said. Debuted May 8, the event space and outdoor recreation area lies just behind City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive. City officials said the amenity will serve as an anchor for the walkable Town Center district, event venue and a place where families can enjoy some fresh air. It also provides John Creek residents something less tangible but no less important, Bradberry said. “People's pride in Johns Creek has been evolving as we've matured,” he said. “It's going to be the most important thing to happen for our community since we were incorporated.” Between events, The Boardwalk remains open. On a late May Saturday evening, dozens of families stopped by. Throughout the space, kids pedaled bikes, happy dogs pulled leashes and adults stretched their legs.
