How to appeal your property assessment By JOSHUA WILSON joshua@appenmedia.com SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — The clock is ticking for property owners in Fulton County to appeal the values listed in their recently received annual notices of assessment. Georgia law gives property owners 45 days from the date the notice was sent to file an appeal. The Fulton County deadline is July 31. Online filing of appeals is the preferred method, although the county also receives appeals by mail or in person at its main office (235 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 1200, Atlanta, GA 30303) or its satellite offices. JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — A group of international experts in the field of technology visited the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce July 7 to participate in a discussion addressing questions about the future of artificial intelligence. Experts from Egypt, the Philippines,
Trinidad & Tobago and Uruguay were at the chamber’s Johns Creek Parkway headquarters for the two-hour dialogue. There, they discussed innovation, national security, workforce development and the role of public-private partnership in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. Among the group was Craig Ramlal, executive director of the Artificial Intelli-
gence Innovation Centre at the University of the West Indies and a member of the United Nations Secretary-General's HighLevel Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence. The advisory group is charged with drafting commendations formed Objective 5 of the UN Global Digital Compact adopted by 193 member states.
