New hospital tower to expand services, stimulate economy FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Northside Hospital Forsyth marked the start of a major expansion April 16 with the groundbreaking of a six-story patient tower and emergency department improvement. The project is part of an effort to meet the growing healthcare demands in Forsyth County and surrounding communities, Northside Hospital said. The expansion follows significant regional growth. In 2025, the hospital recorded more than 851,000 patient encounters, including more than 67,000 emergency department visits. The project includes a six-story tower with 96 patient rooms, more than 260,000 square feet of new construction and 57,000 square feet of renovated space. Plans also call for expanded clinical and support services, a larger emergency department, a new lab and pharmacy and a parking deck with about 500 spaces. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028. Hospital CEO Lynn Jackson said the project will provide additional jobs and better healthcare. “This investment reflects a belief that our community deserves healthcare that is not only advanced, but compassionate; not only responsive, but visionary; not only prepared for today, but ready for tomorrow,” Jackson said.

County expo helps residents prepare for aging By JON WILCOX jon@appenmedia.com FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Tara Stiffler’s mom was always there for her. When she was a kid, Stiffler’s mother always had breakfast ready before school. She made a point of being at home to keep her daughter out of day care. And when Stiffler received a cancer diagnosis at age 43, her mom was by her side. “There's nobody I'd rather be with

when I'm sick than my mom,” said Stiffler, now 57. That’s why the Cumming woman decided to accompany her 79-year old mother, Gail Murphy, to the 22nd annual Aging Well Expo at the Forsyth Conference Center April 23. The mother and daughter joined other residents in learning about services, senior care products and health advice.
