Group sustains resistance to proposed event center North Forsyth County residents mount campaign against facility By JON WILCOX jon@appenmedia.com FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Six months after forming Forsyth County Voice, members of the organization say their diligence may be paying off. A proposed 9,000 square-foot event space on Keith Bridge Road faces a May 5 deadline, Planning Commission Chairman Stacy Guy said. If property owner Narasimha Rao Tambareni fails to file a request to appear before the commission, the project could be withdrawn. “The ball is in the applicant’s court,” Guy said. If the project is withdrawn, Tambareni would be required to wait a year to refile. Tambareni did not respond to requests for comment. Since mid-November, dozens of Forsyth County Voice members have attended every County Commission meeting to voice their opposition to the project. Wearing red shirts to signify their opposition, about two dozen members appeared at an April 16 meeting.

CUMMING, Ga. — The Forsyth Symphony Orchestra presented its “Timeless Classics” concert April 19. The program is designed to connect seasoned classical listeners with audiences more familiar with orchestral music through film and television. Under the direction of Mark Wood, the ensemble guided the audience through a curated selection of well-known works spanning the classical canon. Wood framed the performance with commentary, noting that while dedicated classical fans would recognize many of the pieces immediately, others might connect with them through their cultural presence in popular media. He also provided historical context and storytelling between selections, helping listeners better understand each composition’s origins and impact.
