FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Getting the word out about childhood cancer is about protecting a community’s most valuable resource, its children. “Your children are the message we send into the future,” said Bill Blalock, Forsyth County resident and two-time cancer survivor. “Let’s make it a good one, and let's try to make sure we preserve their health, so that they'll be here.” Blalock, a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, and other representatives of the organization appeared at a Sept. 19 Forsyth County Commission meeting to hear the reading of a proclamation declaring Sept. 23-27 as Childhood Cancer Week. September is internationally recognized as Childhood Cancer Month,
