commission meetings once the meetings move back to the Maloof Auditorium. Chief Operating Officer Zach Williams said the staff is prepared to have that conversation with the parking vendor, Universal Parking Management. Commissioner Nicole Massiah raised concerns about raising the rates, given previous issues with entry and exit and a lack of on-site parking attendants.
DUNWOODY, Ga. — The City of Dunwoody is proposing to maintain its property tax rate at 3.040 mills for 2026. The levy will continue to include a one-mill reduction for all homestead properties, lowering the effective rate to 2.040. The city will also continue to freeze assessed values for homesteaded properties. Although the millage rate would remain the same, rising property assessments in DeKalb County are expected to increase overall tax collections by 0.50 percent over the rollback millage rate, requiring the city to advertise the proposal as a tax increase under Georgia law. But Dunwoody has a property assessment freeze mandated in its charter, so no homestead property owners in Dunwoody will see a city tax bill increase this year, according to a city spokesperson. Only commercial properties, rental properties and properties without a homestead exception will pay higher taxes. “State law requires the value of assessments to be shown against last year’s values even if the city has a hard property assessment freeze,” according to a statement from the city.
