ROSWELL, Ga. — The City of Roswell gave updates on the Order to Vacate for the Economy Hotel during the May 12 regular meeting, stating that requests for assistance were 100 percent fulfilled. Roswell had ordered the business empty last week, citing safety concerns. Fire Chief Pabel Troche gave further insight into what the past week looked like. During the shutdown 93 units requested assistance, including housing, moving assistance and transportation. Approximately 127 adult, 49 children and 46 animals were given support by the city and through community donations. “I want to make sure that everybody is aware that we were receiving requests for assistance of people that didn’t even live in the hotel,” Troche said. “We had to go through a lot of information, through a lot of vetting and with our police department partners [to tell them] to ensure we were providing the right services to the right people.”
