ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Alpharetta City Council redirected funds to a project that aims to promote pedestrian access while stimulating economic development in the North Point area. At their Feb. 10 meeting, council members approved a mid-year budget amendment that rescinds $9,296,559 meant for a lane reduction on North Point Parkway. The amendment instead provides about $10 million for the design of Alpha Link, a 12foot, lighted multi-use pathway along 1.2 miles from Haynes Bridge Road to Encore Parkway. Alpha Link will serve as a vital connection between the Big Creek Greenway and Alpha Loop pathways. Public Works Director Pete Sewczwicz said the city made plans before the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce North Point Parkway’s lanes
